Professional Teeth Whitening

Sometimes the smile you have isn’t the smile you want. Whether as a result of injury, age, or just years of coffee and red wine, teeth can become discolored and stained for a smile that is less than brilliantly bright.

Professional teeth whitening treatments like those from Dental Depot Arizona can help make your smile up to 10 shades brighter, removing stains both on the surface of your teeth as well as deep below the enamel. Choose from in-office chairside treatment or one of our take-home whitening kits and discover the smile you were meant to have.

Types of Professional
Teeth Whitening

There are two types of professional teeth whitening treatment: take-home or at-home kits and in-office or chairside whitening.

Take-home teeth whitening kits use prescription-strength whitening gel and silicone trays to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home. Teeth are whitened gradually for more natural results and the stronger bleaching agents can whiten your teeth better than off-the-shelf products.

In-office teeth whitening consists of an office visit and special whitening chemicals that must be applied by a trained dentist to avoid damaging the oral tissue. In-office teeth whitening produces fast, dramatic, and instantly visible results, often in just one visit.

Teeth Whitening Options

Professional teeth whitening is just one of the comprehensive dental care services offered at all of Dental Depot’s Arizona locations. For added convenience and optimal results, several of our options even include both at-home and in-office treatment, making your best smile even easier to find.

Opal Go, from Opalescence, is a $99 at-home whitening system that’s ready to use right out of the box. The UltraFit tray conforms to fit your smile and uses 15% hydrogen peroxide gel to whiten your teeth in as little as 15-20 minutes a day for 5-10 days.

For an added boost, try:

Opal GoBoost, a combination of Opal Go and in-office treatment. First you’ll wear your Opal Go UltraFit trays for 5 days, then you’ll come in for an in-office treatment, which includes 2-3 20-minute whitening sessions. Then you’ll use the Opal Go trays for another 5 days, revealing  a stunning smile that’s several shades whiter. Opal GoBoost’s whitening gel contains potassium nitrate and fluoride for patient comfort, and it’s vegan and gluten-free.

KOR Max also combines at-home whitening with a single in-office visit. In addition to 2-4 weeks of at-home nighttime whitening with Kor Night 16% carbamide peroxide, KOR Max includes one in-office treatment using 34% dual-activated tri-barrel hydremide peroxide gel and periodic at-home maintenance.

For ultimate results, try:

KORMax Ultra, an at-home and in-office whitening system designed for dark geriatric staining and stubborn cases like fluorosis. The KORMax Ultra treatment includes an initial in-office conditioning visit, followed by 4-8 weeks of at home nighttime whitening with Kor Night’s 16% carbamide peroxide, a final in-office whitening visit with 34% dual-activated tri-barrel hydremide peroxide gel, and periodic at-home maintenance.

Why is professional teeth whitening so expensive?

While professional teeth whitening is more expensive than standard over-the-counter whitening products, it delivers faster, brighter, and more reliable results. Not only is the concentration of professional whitening gel stronger, but it is applied under the supervision of a dental professional, who will make sure your teeth and gums are healthy enough for treatment, if there are any crowns or veneers that will not respond to the whitening, and that the gel won’t cause any injury to the oral tissues.

Dental Depot Arizona offers a variety of affordable professional teeth whitening options, as well as flexible financing and payment options, because we don’t believe a beautiful smile should break the bank.

Are there any side effects to professional teeth whitening?

Professional teeth whitening is a non-invasive cosmetic dental procedure that has virtually no side effects. The strength of the chemicals used in professional teeth whitening can cause some temporary sensitivity and gum irritation, but most symptoms improve within 48 hours of treatment. Discomfort that persists beyond 48 hours can often be alleviated by a temporary change to your diet, including limiting hot, cold, crunchy, or acidic foods, and by using a sensitivity toothpaste.

How long does professional teeth whitening last?

Professional teeth whitening is a cosmetic, restorative procedure, not a preventative one, so the results won’t last forever. How long your results from professional teeth whitening will last varies from patient to patient and depends on several factors, including the type and degree of the stains and your lifestyle.

With good oral hygiene and regular professional cleanings, your teeth could stay brilliantly white for anywhere from 6 months to 2-3 years. Smoking or other nicotine use and regular consumption of dark or acidic beverages like wine and coffee will eventually start to dull your smile again.
